Repost for the weekday gang: Since these pics were taken I’ve painted and installed new flowtech LS swap manifolds which seem fairly nice and hug the block much better than the stock parts , put in the thermostat, removed the automatic trans flexplate, and painted that ugly harmonic balancer. Should be ready to go to be thrown in the car. I plan on creating a rough pinout of the FiTech harness to aid with troubleshooting any issues that may come. Also c onfirmed that I will need to acquire an LS1 tensioner/ idler pully as my truck one will certainly not fit now that I have water pump spacers installed.
Fairly impressed with the FiTech kit so far, but the paint quality on the intake leaves a lot to be desired and they forgot to include an O-ring for the throttle body so I will be getting in touch with customer service.
Intake is just set on for mockup, it’ll have to come off for installation. So far everything has gone together incredibly well, the F Body GM oil pan fit perfectly and I’m impressed with the ICT Billet accessory conversion brackets. Biggest issue so far is the idler pulley for the truck is too tall to work with my F body water pump, a new car specific part will need purchased or I’ll need to cut down the truck part to fit. Check out that giant turbo on the drivers side!
Also it’s so nice working on something modern where I can reference dealership service manuals and buy parts over the counter.

Very nice. I was toying with the idea of putting a slant 6 in my truck to keep it somewhat like the original and Chrysler. But using a more modern V8 would be easier and a shorter block room wise.

Where did you find a 15-pack of lacroix?

I think it’s pretty normal after a swap to throw a few belts. While you have it on the stand I would make sure you get your alignment perfect. Much easier to adjust the bracketry now then after its squeezed into th e engine bay.

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ve only ever dealt with v-belts before not serpentine belts.

Love the color! I was surprised that the intake plenum fit under the hood looking at the first picture but then I saw from the next pic that it wasn’t all that tall. GM hoods of the era were always so low that that’s always the first thing I think of.

Sir, don’t take this the wrong way, but I really like the cut of your intake runners...

Serpentines are great-- and get you some bonus power. The Tensioner also has to be spot-on for the belt length and runs... you could get squeaking.

Yeah I hope it fits. I’m trying to figure out a way to use the shaker scoop as the primary intake for the motor.

Keep us updated! This build interests me greatly for some mysterious reason ...
That co lor looks like a good match for pontiac blue. They changed it a whole bunch so that doesn’t mean much but it still looks good

It is the Duplicolor 60s Pontiac blue paint lol.

I like that earlier metal flake look. Definetly more attractive than what was on my block.
